Mzuzu based Anti Quota System Movement commonly known as Quota Must Fall on 30 December 2019, misled Malawians when the institution gave wrong narrative which depicted a picture that Ministry of Education Science and Technology is discriminating and marginalising northern region.

In their statement signed by Publicity Secretary Reverend Kangawakako Mumba, the movement is raising serious allegations that the Government has not abolished quota system.

Our findings indicate that the Ministry has used Merit in selecting students during this second selection.

They had a cut off point which they used in their earlier first selection where they used highest marks desrves position in the secondary schools and they continue the same during the second selection.

Our findings is in great sharp contrast with information contained in the results book on the second selection to the findings of the movement.
Ministry of Education Science and Technology on Friday 27, December, 2019 released second selection of form one students into various national and conventional secondary schools.
In a statement signed by the Minister of education William Susuwele Banda, 125 students were selected into Malawi National schools.
According to a statement, 17, 831 students were selected into various secondary schools in order to replace students who never reported during the first selection.
In the statement 14,381 students were selected into Community Day secondary schools.
According to our search, talking about merit in girls national secondary schools, it is Mzuzu City which has done very well in fact Mzuzu is on position one since the district has produced 11 students offloaded into National schools, seconded by Karonga at 7 then Mzimba South which has sent 6 students while Nkhata Bay another distict in the northern region has sent 2, Chitipa 2, and Rumphi has sent into National schools.
Our further investigations have revealed that no one from Mulanje, Thyolo and Phalombe has made it into national secondary schools and yet Providence Secondary Schools has 7 students from the northern region.
According to our investigations 12 students have gone to Kaseghe and 12, 6 are from the nothern region.

Secondary school and that all are from the northern region.

Our search further reveals as follows Below secondary schools have all students from the northern region.
Stella Maris 2, Mlanda Girls 2, Ludzi Girls in Mchinji 2, and Likuni Girls in Lilongwe 2 all have students occupied by students from the northern region.
However to show hypocricy, the movement is not discussing anything regarding these figures.

Another issue which the movement has tackled is that they are accusing Ministry of favoring Phalombe.

Our findings are that Phalombe standardised tests and the district education Manager rewards teachers for the hard work as motivation and that most of holidies are cut in order to finish sylubus and do alot of revisions.

Phalombe has been role model in hard work and some of Districts even go Phalombe to learn.
