Chakwera calls Tonse partners not to defeat evil with evil

MCP and Tonse alliance presidential torchbearer, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, has assured Malawians that change is here and will not be stopped by any barbaric acts.
Dr. Chakwera says it is with sadness that Malawi have perpetrators of violence in a democratic Malawi, advising MCP- UTM and Tonse partners not to defeat evil with evil but to show the evil minded people that they are to bring real change by saying “no” to violence after being provoked.
This is contained in Dr. Chakwera’s official facebook page message giving his reaction after receiving news that State Vice president, Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima’s convoy was attacked by unknown DPP- UDF thugs who pelted stones at Nkhulambe area between Mulanje and Phalombe stretch.
Social media reports are allegedly indicating that Mr. Charles Mchacha, Nicholas Dausi and Dr. Ben Phiri are linked to the attack on Chilima to eliminate him as confessed by traditional leaders of Nkhulambe who distanced themselves that those who pelted stones were from Goliati under the sponsorship of Mchacha.
According to reports, Dr. Chilima was conducting his whistle- stops campaign meetings when unregistered Toyota Prado energed from the bush and went past Chilima’s convoy and in no time, there were stones being pelted on the convoy.
Pilirani Phiri, State Veep’s press secretary says DPP- UDF thugs in Mulanje smashed a vehicle that was carying members of the media, saying a Zodiak camera man has been injured on the arm while their driver sustained an injury in the head.
Phiri says inorder to ensure safety, State vice president Dr. Chilima had to cut short the campaign tour.
In Liwonde, DPP- UDF thugs driving in a motorbike carrying with them their flags emerged into the crowd of people where Daudi Sulemani and Kokoliko team were holding a campaign meeting, there were stones pelted at them.
Meanwhile, former state vice president during the DPP led government of late Prof. Bingu wa Mutharika, Dr. Cassim Chilumpha, has condemned in strongest terms attainable the attack on Dr. Chilima in Phalombe and Daudi Sulemani in Liwonde respectively, urging all the responsible security agencies to work hand in hand to bring the perpetrators to book.
