Man arrested for defiling 2-year old girl

Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 20-year old man on suspicion that he defiled a 2-year old daughter of his tenant.
According to Lilongwe Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer Foster Benjamin the suspect has been identified as Christopher Munthuwa.
He said Munthuwa committed the offence on Thursday in Area 36.
“It is said the mother sent her daughter to borrow a comb from the landlord’s house.
After using it, the mother sent the daughter back to return the comb.
To her surprise the daughter was taking so long and this prompted the mother to find out” said he.
Benjamin further said the victims Mother saw the child coming out of one of the bedrooms of the landlord’s house and had some strange things on her private parts.
“She reported to Area 36 Police Unit and was issued with a referral letter to the hospital where defilement was confirmed.
“Police arrested Munthuwa for allegedly defiling the child” said Benjamin. He says the suspect will appear in court to answer to a defilement charge.
The suspect comes from Malengachanzi area in Nkhotakota.
In a related development High Court Judge Justice Professor Redson Kapindu has sentenced an Asian of Pakistan origin, Zaeshan Jaral Raja to a 30-year jail term for defilement and another 20 years for abduction.
The convict was appealing against an earlier sentence of a 16-year jail term by a lower court.
In 2017 he abducted a girl child and defiled her repeatedly before hiding her in a fridge when her parents and the police came to his shop.. looking for her.
Newly promoted High Court Judge, Agnes Patemba while serving as a Chief Resident Magistrate at Zomba registry, convicted and sentenced him to a 16-year jail term for defilement and 8 years for abduction which the convict appealed at the High Court.
