Minister Lowe in Egypt to hunt for new tobacco buyers
The Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe is in Egypt holding talks with Egyptian Tobacco Companies.
Malawi as a nation continues importing fertilizers from abroad with no any export that can be exchanged with these fertilizer imports and this trip is aimed at engaging these buyers in reaching a consensus that will see Malawi exporting tobacco that will be exchanged with fertilizer imports.
The 7 day Tobacco Promotional Trip to Egypt (5 days) and South Africa (2) has been planned to attract more buyers on Tobacco sales so that our Farmers who have been subjected to ill-treatments in regards tobacco pricing start getting good prices come this year’s tobacco season.
As a country, we will grow tobacco until the last cigarette or cigar is produced.
