Minister Navicha speak against discrimination of deaf people

Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and social welfare in conjunction with Malawi National Association of Deaf on Monday took turns accusing the society of discrimination against the deaf.

Navicha was speaking in Lilongwe during the press conference as

Malawi joined the rest of the country to commemorate International Day of sign languages.
Navicha told the press that deaf people are human beings like anybody else.
She said International Day of sign Languages is an annual event which globally falls on 23 September.
The day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2017 in order to celebrate the lives of the deaf accross the globe.
She said the day helps to bring awareness on the important of sign language in the full realization of Human Rights of people who are deaf.
The Minister said Malawi has 377, 790 deaf people acxording to Malawi Population and Housing Census 2018.
Navicha has since urged Malawians to stop discrimination against
