Minister Vuwa Kaunda in a campaign against encroachment
In a dramatic turn of events Lilongwe is no longer the haven of encroachment.
It came a time when any one could just work up and start building a structure willy nilly.
One could just work up start piling bricks and erecting fence.
This has been the case at Bwaira Hospital reserve land Lilongwe Depot just to mention afew.
However following the appointment of Vuwa Kaunda as Minister of Land the situation has been completely different.
He started warning lands officers by holding regional meetings in all three regions.
In all the meetings he stressed that he will not defend anyone found in wrong side of the law.
And sonce then the minister and Principal Secretary Joseph Mwandidya have proved doubting Thomas Didmus wrong by working 24 hours. Just early this week the Minister and his PS have been visiting areas which were demolished by the authorities after being found to be illegal.

land that was encroached behind K99 shop.

“This land belongs to Malawians and we will never never entertain such behaviour of from some people encroaching the people’s land,” He said.
Kaunda also thanked President Peter Mutharika for giving all the necessary support in ensuring that corruption is looted out from the Ministry.
