MCP queries Covid – 19 inclusive committee

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has clarified that the appointment of the interim leader of opposition in parliament who is also a member of the party Hon.
Lobin Lowe as one of the members in the newly restructured Presidential Taskforce on Corona Virus (PTCV) which was previously known as Cabinet Committee on Corona Virus (CCCV) is just political.
Speaking during a press briefing held by the MCP president at its headquarters in Lilongwe on Wednesday morning, the Secretary General for the party honorable Eisenhower Mkaka told the nation that the party was not consulted and Hon. Lowe was not personally approached for the decision to include him in the taskforce,making him to call it political move to involve the opposition into the squandering of the Covid-19 funds which have seen ministers getting up to K450,000 allowance per day.
There was no immediate response from the government on the issue.
The briefing revealed some irregularities in the NRB and MEC systems ahead of July 2 fresh presidential election.
