Mzuzu Asian business community calls for Covid -19 prevention measures in political rallies

The Mzuzu base Asian business community on Tuesday asked Malawian government to put in place Covid-19 prevention measures in all political rallies in order to reduce the spread of the virus.
Speaking after donating Covid-19 personal protective equipments (PPEs) including 10 mattresses to wezi clinic in the green city of mzuzu, Rashid Bano who is the group coordinator expressed worry with the tendency of how politicians are handling their rallies.
According to Bano, the development is a set back to well wishers who contributes to the Covid-19 donations.
“We know that we are having fresh elections a head of us and campaigning is very important to all parties. However, covid -19 is a disease which needs to be prevented as such Malawian government should find ways how political parties can accommodate covid-19 prevention measures in their various political meetings to self guard the life of all Malawians,” said Bano.
In his remarks, Wezi Clinic Administrator Daugras Lungu thanked the group for the donation saying it has come at the right time.
According to him, his clinic is now ready and prepared to face any covid-19 patients.
Apart from donating PPEs and mattresses, the Mzuzu Asian business ommunity also renovated Wezi clinic isolation facility using K4 million.
Last month, the Asian business community helped the Mzuzu central hospital with different covid-19 PPEs and also renovation of an isolation center.
