The parliamentary portfolio committee on infrastructure and agriculture should take up its mandate to examine the government land encroachment issues that is dominating the media. Indeed the legal committee has done the needful and it has to focus on new laws like the 50+ 1.

The issues at hand are very patient for our national growth and the relevant portfolio committee of the national assembly has to come out in the open.

Please the chair of this portfolio committee has to move with speed since the problem of encroachment seems to be wearing an ugly face.

OIL one the local Asian trader has not been speared in this scramble for land from the local person.

The new section of City Centre after CDH Bank is all given to Oil one.

Plots 13/25 13/26 and 13/23 where the huge buildings are taking shape all these belong to Oil one a Malawian of Asian origin with links to the top except in heaven.

Others have failed to get such commercial plots.

Mustak Chotia another Malawian of Asian origin was given 80 plots by MHC at Gulliver and he built a metal fence and started selling each plot at prevailing commercial rate before he was threatened by some locals.

He was advertising through castle and weathers estate agents of St. martins house in city center. He was given 80 plots in 2015 at a time when many people were dying for such land.

Mustak Chotia also got land just next to Kamuzu Central Hospital round about meant for a road reserve and he is building a filling station. The original map was changed and they developed a plot and plots for this trader who is ever involved in boot leg deals.

Please fellow citizens lets protect our land and ask MHC to redistribute the 80 plots to local men and women. Lets give MHC five days or else we seek legal action.

Muhammad Diab of city mall and Hayaty properties has got over 17 hectares of land in area 46. He has over 100 hectares on Likuni road from Chisanpo road block and he is selling the land in dollars even though the plots are not developed as per land laws. He has over 11 heactres just after the Chinese housing project opposite Gulliver and another huge piece between Lunar project and Simbi Phiri’s flats on the stadium road.

In City Centre he has over five commercial plots undeveloped. The list is endless and boasts that he has more land than the government. This is the man from Lebanon and can get all this at the expense of the locals.

On the airport road from the point where the sell goat meat and the braai on the left hand side as we head to the airport the white fence belong to Mr Dipak Divanchi a trade with Asian back ground.

Comrades and friends, tomorrow I intend to focus on Mr Muhammad Selemani the acting land commissioner for central region. We need to know what we have to follow up.

Last evening we did remove minister Vuwa from the whole process since the then minister Mr Atupele Muluzi and the lands commissioner Felix Mangani then knew what happened. The status quo remains unchanged. Minister Vuwa please continue doing your job so that locals can own land. It’s not easy to own land in Beirut or India for a Malawian.

Once again, I repeat, that the position of Mvera Files remain irrevocable on issues to do with fear and favor. We want to call a spade by it’s name.

We can’t baby sit the ego of old men and women.

We are not ready to nurse your ambitions and desires.
