Things Fall Apart in DPP
Spokesperson powerful than SG
By Linda Kwanjana – Malawi Exclusive
It has become free for all at the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). Nyekhwe started when the party was kicked out of its headquarters in Lilongwe leaving them holding the meetings under the tree.
Political Scientist Mustapha Hussein said the incident of Lilongwe City Council kicking DPP out of office was a sign of weak administrative systems in the party.
Hussein said there are so many rich people in DPP such as Kondwani Nankhumwa, Joseph Mwanamveka, Dr Dalitso Kabambe, George Chaponda, and many others including its president Professor Peter Mutharika who is not an ordinary person.
Unfortunately, non of then had a reasoning to settle the K1Million bill. The only thing these people knew was to enrich themselves, buiding mansions, buying cars for their own good.
Currently DPP Spokesperson Brown James Mpinganjira has grown big wings to the effect that he has turned himself as a Party Secretary General.
Protocol requires that a Party Spokesperson cannot hold a press conference on his own unless endorsed by the Secretary General who happens to be the party Chief Executive officer.
Mpinganjira should not grow his wings and own the party. His position is far below with his bosslady the SG. In the event that the SG is not available, let the Deputy Secretary General take charge of party affairs.
Malawi Exclusive will not stop questioning the strange and undemocratic conduct of Mpinganjira.
It’s time Mpinganjira slows down his antics to abusing his powers and overstepping his mandate.
Just recently DPP cadets pannel beaten Mpinganjira alongside Party administrative Secretary Francis Mphepo, legal advisor Charles Mhango and Chimwemwe Chipungu.
